I saw this on UPN in 2001, and I was shocked by how much scarier it was than the original. Don't get me wrong—I enjoyed the first one, but "He's Back!" trailers had me worried this time. After celebrating his thousandth birthday, Leprechaun (Warwick Davis) decides he wants to have a family of his own and sets out to find a spouse. In a manner similar to the first film, he seeks his stolen or recovered riches. The deaths in this film are shown with greater gore and brutality than in the last film, but remember: it's just a movie. Clint Howard plays a visitor, Sandy Baron from Seinfeld is the hero's sidekick, and Michael McDonald from MadTV Leprechaun horror movie is one of the Leprechaun's unfortunate victims.
